File retention
How local drafts, cloud files, deleted accounts and financial records are retained.
Browser-local drafts
The free studio stores drafts in your browser. We cannot recover a local draft after you clear site storage, remove the browser profile or lose the device. Export a draft file and keep your own copies of important PDFs.
Cloud projects and generated files
While your account is active, cloud projects, selected pages, generation candidates and exports remain available until you delete them. They are private account files, not public permanent hosting links. We do not apply a scheduled expiry to purchased credits while your account remains open.
Deleting a project removes its project data. Unreferenced files are cleaned separately. Removing a page from a book does not necessarily delete a candidate or file that is still used elsewhere in your account. Use Data & privacy to remove unused files or request account deletion.
Account deletion
Account deletion ends active sessions and queues a deletion job. Running or uncertain generation tasks must finish or be reviewed first. The worker removes your profile contact information, linked login credentials, projects, prompts and associated files from active application data.
After closure, pseudonymous order, credit and deletion-audit records are retained for up to seven years for financial records, payment disputes and accountability. A debt, pending payment, dispute or legal hold can delay final removal of those records.
Backups and external providers
Restricted backups, when made, have a retention limit of 30 days. Deleted data may remain in a backup until that backup is rotated out. Backups are for recovery, not for ordinary access to deleted projects; a recovery must reapply outstanding deletion requests.
External providers have independent retention rules. Kie.ai’s temporary image URLs are not our storage service and must not be treated as permanent links. Printable Patch downloads validated outputs into its private storage rather than relying on those links.
Keep an export and contact us
Download copies before closing your account. If a deletion or export is blocked or appears incomplete, contact support with the project or task reference. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes or card details.
